Description

The sky is set on strobe, the lightning leaning my direction./ It flashes from the atmosphere seeking true connection./ The earth spins off its axis, scattering the zodiac./ The sky lit up like the lord himself was a pyromaniac,/ The clouds are thick and heavy, the horizon tucked in snug./ The black is blowing fuses, refusing to unplug./ It’s interstellar wildfire, turn the darkness to a lie./ So fly flag, fly your flag, fly your flag high.

The moon is full, my heart is empty/ The stars spell out oblivion, do their best to tempt me./ The wind is ripping rags from the canvas of the sky/ Let it do its worse and fly your flag high. Midnight has come calling, again bearing gifts./ Loneliness and loss trading off in double shifts./ I am the only witness, my solitude my alibi./ I murder melancholy as I fly my flag high.

I’d like to look down on the stars from the opposite perspective./ Get myself so high that my depression turns defective././The stars are flashing morse code frozen in time./ The moon is staring into the distance, practicing pantomime./ The day won’t simply break, it’s bending towards collapse/ As the raging wind gives raucous cheers, lightning lashes, thunder claps./ The darkness is the pupil of an ever twinkling eye./ So fly your flag, fly your flag, fly your flag high.

The rain came down so thick, you could swim to the moon. The puddle around my feet my own lonely lagoon./ stared up at the sky until I was wet enough to drown/ I tried to climb a sheet of rain but it kept letting me down./ The sky is tired of bending and is trying hard to break./ To turn the heavens inside out, for a milky way shake./ So drink it in, then shout it out, amen, testify. Fly your flag, fly your flag, fly your flag high.

Tomorrow I have got a staring contest with the sun./ I think one of us will end up blind before the duel is done/. I’m hoping if I’m lucky I’ll get evaporated too/ Make me a memory, my ethereal debut/ The moon’s a spotlight searching but I’m impossible to find./ Look up and I am gone leaving only dark behind./ A night sky glowing bares the truth, no wish to falsify./ So fly your flag, fly your flag, fly your flag high.
