Description

Heavy Sleepers is part of "distant bodies still in friction" - an ongoing contemporary art research that started in 2019, about affective/romantic relationships and its implications in a political view of the world. Friction is a force caused by the collision of two objects, a disturbance that requires physical presence. In the virtual era we can cause friction even in distance, by placing the ghost - a projection mediated through technology - at the center of our social interactions.

The project, at first, was foccused on micropolitical takes on subjects like reinvention of love, heteronormative forms of opression (what I call Couple Entity), and other emerging subjects that were brought up during conversation with friends, coleagues artists and every person that was willing to share their visions of affective ethics during the process.
