HEAT CITIES #113 is part a collaborative series created by Yazid and Nicolas Sassoon. Each work from the series employs iterations from the project “HASHED CITIES” released by Yazid on fxhash in November 2021. Through moiré patterning and compositing, the original still image becomes animated with a sun rising behind its skyline, suggesting an archetypal and dystopic vision of an urban landscape experienced through a heatwave. The project was inspired by their original collaboration piece "HEAT CITIES #197" which was created as part of The Collab Room, an H&N gallery experience created by Beets and curated by Xer0x in August 2022.
