About the Grief Diaries collection:

My mother passed away in May 2021 and I came apart. To deal with the pain, I turned to writing diaries about my honest feelings. The Grief Diaries are a collection of ‘self-portraits’ that are my response to this pain. They are everything I wanted to say but lacked the courage to.

About this artwork:

On 17 September during one of my worst days I wrote, “I have thought about dying in the past few months than I ever had in my entire life. Sometimes even several times a day. Mama, it’s not getting easier, it’s getting harder.”

My mother’s name was Rose and we buried her with white and red roses.
