Glitch Garden: Wetlands brings together aquatic and wetland plant species, each adapted to a different type of freshwater habitat, from slow-moving rivers and marsh edges to still ponds and drainage ditches.

The collection spans species with very different origins and roles: papyrus and lotus, long cultivated in the Nile Delta and across Asia respectively; native marginal plants like yellow flag iris, water plantain, arrowhead, and flowering rush, which stabilize banks and shallow zones; floating and submerged species such as water lily, milfoil, and hydrilla, some of which are considered invasive outside their native range; and horsetail, a genus that has existed largely unchanged for hundreds of millions of years.

Rather than representing a single ecosystem, the collection brings together plants from different wetland types and geographic regions, connected only by their shared dependence on water.
