From the 5 Great rivers that converge at the center of the Underworld. The one called Styx is probably the most famous. For most, this fame is due to the fact that the Styx river is the boundary between earth and the underworld, a boundary most of us are destined to cross. For myself, its fame arises from a different perspective. I will never forget the first, second, third, fourth and fifth time I gazed upon a symbolic representation of the Styx river and the Island that resides between its shores. These encounters evoked a horror much more beautiful than the thought of a possible crossing ever could. But, I am getting off track here, this is not about the River's fame or function, nor is it about connections with other Rivers. This is about the long-awaited discovery of the humble beginnings of the Styx river.
