The series "...FUNNY, I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HER." is composed of videos and photos based on a research about my Lebanese roots, history of immigration in Brazil, memory loss and mother-daughter transmission.

The pieces combine different techniques and materials, such as scanned old family photos, video, 3D scan and children’s drawings.

The multi-layered artworks propose a reflection on very large questions. Why do we remember what we do ? Why do we delete certain memories ? What do we transmit to our children, and in what form ? If memory is always a performance about the past, like researchers point, how can we piece together our identities? What’s the relation between memory, fiction, culture and transmission? What’s the role of images in the construction of our cultural and personal identities?

All these pieces are included in a solo exhibition at the Villa Empain – Boghossian Fondation (Brussels) , where they were created during an art residency.
