We need to distinguish between identity as what we recognize ourselves with and subjectivity as what we are. We take identity from objects, thoughts and ideologies that rule our bodies and show it through representation. In developing this identity, we are influenced by the society, our surroundings and the people around us. Every society tries to to turn us into its expectation through a process of assimilation in accordance with the ruling cultural hegemony. Clothing, appearance, education and anything that shapes our identity is influenced by hegemony and it is effective in the development or representation of our identity. Consider a society which enforces a certain type of clothing on us. A change like a pandemic in such a society could appear in the form of more limitations or an intensity of hegemony. There is always a challenge between identity and subjectivity. It seems as if we have to ask identity or subjectivity. That is the problem. size : 4276 × 6405 px
