RECTANGLES is another of Stefan Kainbacher's four works and represents a contemplative animation. Already for the first edition of the Vaduz Light Festival 2022 Stefan Kainbacher presented the first NFTs in Liechtenstein at the Galerie am Lindenplatz. Among them was the work RECTANGLES, 2022, exhibited as one of three NFTs.
It is interesting to note that this work in particular has a constructivist dimension in terms of its formal realisation. The four squares rotating around their own axis represent a reference to the constructivist currents, which results in a discrepancy of the medium as well as the formal-analytical realisation of the work. This tension is now thematised again on the basis of this work by transferring the virtual work as NFT, now as fictional-physical and thus supposedly real work into virtual reality.
The Vaduz Light Festival is a free 10-day light art event held annually during the winter in the heart of Liechtenstein’s capital. In 2023, the Vaduz Light Festival created the first light art festival in the metaverse. The aim of the festival is to bridge art, culture and innovation through light art, and thus to push the boundaries of perception and emotions evoked by light art in a virtual space.

RECTANGLES ist eine weitere der vier Arbeiten Stefan Kainbachers und stellt eine contemplative Animation dar. Bereits zur ersten Edition des Vaduz Light Festivals 2022 präsentierte Stefan Kainbacher in der Galerie am Lindenplatz die ersten NFTs in Liechtenstein. Darunter war auch die Arbeit RECTANGLES, 2022, als eines von drei NFTs ausgestellt.
Gerade an dieser Arbeit ist interessant zu erläutern, dass diese von der formalen Umsetzung her eine konstruktivistische Dimension aufweist. Die vier sich um die eigene Achse drehenden Quadrate stellen ein Bezug zu den konstruktiven Strömungen dar, was in einer Diskrepanz des Mediums sowie der formal-analytischen Umsetzung der Arbeit resultiert.
Dieses Spannungsverhältnis wird nun erneut anhand dieser Arbeit thematisiert, indem die virtuelle Arbeit als NFT, nun als fiktiv-physische und somit vermeintlich reale Arbeit in die Virtual Reality transferiert wird.
