Description
Dukkha is a Pāli-term found in ancient Indian culture, meaning anything that is “uneasy”, uncomfortable, unpleasant, difficult, causing pain and sadness, anxiety, distress, frustration, unease, unsatisfactoriness, etc. In Buddhism sukkah sits at the heart of the Buddha’s four noble truths which boil down to (1) dukkha exists, (2) dukkha arises from causes, and (3) we can end dukkha (4) by following the Buddha’s path to awakening. For me coming home after a walk on these shoes with profiles is a very easy way of reaching sukkah, making me awake, stone after stone, allowing me to explore the meaning, the number and pattern of the stones I collected, accidentally and unwantingly.
