This collection is about "Divine Makeover" done in one of the important festivals "Mayana Kollai Festival" which takes place every Feb/March in the small village of Kaveripattinam, Tamilnadu, India, the day after Mahashivarathiri (The great night of Shiva). The festival is devoted to Angalamman, a fierce guardian deity worshipped widely in Southern India.
During the festival, kids and adults do makeup in different colors to portray a Goddess. I have been documenting this festival since 2013.
