It was 3am when Simon and I were released back to our hotel after being investigated for espionage for climbing a bridge in Chongqing.
"5 hours before my flight... you know what'd be funny? If we hit the other bridge right now." I joked.
"Lets do it." Simon says.
"What? I was kidding. Do you know how screwed we'd be if we got caught again right after being released?"
"We can call it off if it doesn't feel right once we're there."
...
-moments later-
We scoped out the area in the dead of the night looking for any reason to go back to bed. Fatefully, the coast was clear - not a single soul or CCTV in sight. The fog began to roll in with a drizzle of rain and blue hour was coming. It was now or never.
After coming down, I asked a cab driver in broken Mandarin to get me to the airport in 45 minutes for a 46 minute drive for a big tip.
Fueled with adrenaline, I sprinted and made it to check-in 1 minute before it closed. I sat next to a man in a suit while I was drenched in rain, grease, and memories to last forever and finally got some rest.
