Ceasefire Vacation transforms the language of war into a collectible fantasy — a beachside ceasefire packaged as entertainment, nostalgia, and consumer desire. Through toy aesthetics and vintage propaganda design, the work reflects on how contemporary violence is softened, commercialized, and emotionally digested through media, culture, and spectacle.

Created for War, My Love, the piece responds to the seductive nature of conflict described in KANT’s text: the strange attraction to destruction, propaganda, and collective excitement. The smiling plastic soldiers resting under a sunset expose the absurd normalization of war, where even catastrophe can be repackaged into leisure, identity, and consumption.

By presenting conflict as a vacation product, the work questions how humanity learns not only to survive war — but to desire, romanticize, and market it.
