Description

This photo of me is featured in The Year Time Stopped book published by Harper and Collins one of the biggest publisher in the world. I also awarded with the photos in the book as Documentary Photographer of the Year 2022. This award is the first annual award to celebrate a photographer making brave social impact through documentary photography. The first COVID-19 patient in Turkey was diagnosed on March 11. On March 16, places of worship were closed. Since the number of patients has gradually decreased, the mosques opened to worship within the framework of social distancing and hygiene rules. This is Ankara's Kocatepe Mosque. A new normal started after June 1 in Turkey and places of worship opened with the framework of social distance. and I took this photo during the first Friday prayers after months. Mosques were crowded but prayers had to obey social distance and use masks. Muslims are asked to stand side by side and not to leave any gaps in Friday prayers, but it also brought mandatory changes in the new normal form of worship.
