Faith is a blessing, a mother and friend
Her name was Faith, and she loved so deep, A little heart was hers to keep. She dreamed of tiny hands in hers, Of lullabies and whispered words.
She wanted to be the mother Who could always make things right, The one who’d kiss away the tears And hold her baby through the night.
But somewhere underneath the love, A darkness came she could not see. A battle fought inside her mind That stole the peace she longed to keep.
She tried so hard to carry on, To be the mother she believed Her precious child deserved to have, Though silently her heart was grieved.
Postpartum depression took its toll— A sickness cruel and hard to name. But Faith’s illness was not her love, And motherhood was not to blame.
She was not weak. She did not fail. She was a mother hurting deep. And even when she could not stay, Her love is something time can’t keep.
For every tear she cried in secret, Every prayer she could not say, There was a mother doing all she could To find her way through one more day.
So when her child looks toward the sky And wonders where her mother went, May they know her love is still around, A love that never came and went.
And may the name Faith forever mean A mother whose love was true— Who wanted more than anything To give her very best to you.
She lost a battle she never chose, But she never lost her love. And perhaps the angels whispered softly, “Faith, you have done enough.”
Rest gently now, dear Faith. Your weary heart can finally rest. You were a mother. You were loved. And you were always doing your best.
