Every year during the third full week of October it's Wolf Awareness Week. To celebrate we're introducing you to the wolf species and subspecies found throughout North America.

With a minimum wild population of 186 the Mexican wolf is the rarest, smallest, and most genetically distinct subspecies of gray wolf in North America.
