This is the 2nd piece of my collection ‘Cambodian Sanskrit Masks’. This mask represents Kompoan, the demon commander who leads Krong Reap's army.

Each mask is a character in the story of Reamker, an epic Sanskrit poem. This is a legendary battle between monkey soldiers & demons. Reamker tells the story of King Preah Ream and Hindu Monkey God Hanuman who work together to help rescue Preah Ream’s wife from the King of the Underworld (Krong Reap).
