The ever branching pulmonary system gives life to each of us. As I walked around The Windows of Arches National Park, this Utah Juniper Tree caught my eye. With only the moon behind me for light, I excitedly set up my tripod to capture the essence of this old sentinel. Just as our lungs create more surface area to take in the cold winter air, this tree brings life to the barren desert by reaching for the dim but ever-present light in the night sky. Both of us waiting for the warmth of sunrise.
