Somewhere in a fantasy book I once read, there was a striking idea: there is only one Hero across all timelines, and there is always one Companion who crosses paths with them again and again, recognizing each other no matter the disguise. I adored that thought. We celebrate heroes endlessly, but really - what is Harry Potter without Ron and Hermione, or Neo without Morpheus and Trinity? Companions are the quiet superpower of every Hero, often unseen, but essential.

Artists are no different. Van Gogh without Theo? Dali without Gala? Frida without Diego? Behind each great name stands someone who believed before the world did, someone who held the line in the darkest night.

I owe gratitude to many, but my eternal Hero’s Companion is my husband - the one who tells me, always: choose happiness, I’ll be here to help. And when this life ends, I know we will find each other again, and together, we’ll change the world once more.
