Description
The Mummies of Llullaillaco, also called Children of Llullaillaco and Children of the volcano, are the names given to the bodies of three children sacrificed by the Incas and exceptionally preserved for about five hundred years. They were found at an altitude of 6739 m a.s.l. (22,109 ft.) near the summit of Llullaillaco volcano, in the west of Salta province, northwestern Argentina.
