The Tree Fiend makes its home in the forest, where it lays dormant in the guise of a tree stump. When approached, it springs out of the ground and devours its victims with ferocity unlike any we have ever witnessed.

The Tree Fiend has adapted well to nanite infusion, and our researchers note that it has evolved to spread by tapping into the root systems of nearby trees. When it finds a suitable host, the Tree Fiend will inject its modified nanites into the roots and create a nearly perfect copy of itself.
