Coventina is a Water Goddess of sacred water sources that flow with the water spirits to enrich our life with clarity.
Coventina was worshiped by both the Brythonic and Roman cultures at the location. She was praised for providing life-giving water to all creatures that needed it. As a water deity, Coventina was associated with fertility, healing, and purification. She was also believed to be a protector of travelers and warriors, offering them protection against enemies and supernatural entities. In some stories, Coventina was also able to grant luck and provide warnings and prophecies. Various offerings have been found near Coventina’s wellspring, including coins, jewelry, military decorations, and statues of her and other gods. The most common offering was a type of round stone that local people thought could be used in magical rituals to improve fertility or ensure a safe journey. Coventina’s worship was popular until the decline of Roman rule in Britain, and in modern times she remains a mysterious and symbolic figure. Her image is often seen in modern Wiccan and other Neo-Pagan rituals and is seen as a representation of the creative power of nature.
