Description

A very unusual take on Gaia. Gaia originated from the ancient Greek language, a poetical form of ‘Earth’, later became the name of the Greek goddess of Earth.

When I think of earth, I think of the blue, the water, the oceans, 71% of our planet is covered in it and is home to 240,000 marine species

Water is indispensable for humans, but still, we pollute it every single day, and destroy marine life. For this theme I decided to go with a rather provocative take on it, hoping to raise awareness to the issues our Gaia is facing and picturing the life of some of the marine animals living among the pollution.

3 looks to imagine a life where we would live covered by our trash, just like all the sea-creatures, our children stuck in nets, some of us covered in oil that we can barely breathe.

30% of marine plastic comes from fishing nets and ropes.

70% is plastic transported from land to sea and can be found on the other side of the planet sometimes.

Oil pollution of the ocean comes from shipping activity and offshore oil production. That affects Hundreds and thousands of sea creatures die due to coming in contact with oil which forms a layer on top of the water and contaminates it. It also prevents sunlight from reaching plants on the ocean or seafloor

AIFW is a new fashion-based community event organized by @FAICmag. This event brings together a community of talented creators who are pushing the boundaries of fashion by using AI technology to create bespoke themed pieces inspired by six distinct themes: Wearable Architecture, Plastic Playground, Acid Dystopia, Candyland, Not from here, and Gaia. Each theme will be interpreted by different artists through the lens of AI text-to-image generation, offering a new perspective on the intersection of fashion and technology.
