The fact there are places in the world where people can be killed, murdered, for not wearing a scarf correctly is absolutely appalling. I know that hair and scarves are not the point of all this, that there are many problems to solve in Iran (as elsewhere), but the fact that a woman was murdered by the Iranian government for not wearing a scarf “correctly” just sticks in my mind. I keep asking myself, “This can get you killed?” That this has led to protests in not a surprise - EVERYONE should be appalled by this - but to have these protests escalate into violence, to the point of public executions by the state, is truly heart breaking and frightening. This needs to stop.

I created “This Can Get You Killed?” as a way to (hopefully) help in the effort to make Amir H. Fallah’s “CHANT” project a reality.
