I've always been curious about the monsters. We only ever see the horrible, murderous side of these creatures, but is there more? Were they always monsters, and if not how did they become what they are? What do they do when they're not tormenting the hero of the story? I want to know more about their story.
In "Laughing Medusa", I am exploring the story of one of my favorite "monsters". She wasn't always a monster, and it's difficult to see her story as anything other than tragic. She was wronged, and her rage was justified. I wanted to see her smile, to laugh.
“Beyond all others she was famed for beauty, and the envious hope of many suitors. Words would fail to tell the glory of her hair, most wonderful of all her charms” ~ Ovid
