Have you ever been in a situation where you have only moments, literally seconds, to capture something remarkable??? This is exactly what I was faced with after spending the day chasing severe weather across Colorado!

As I was heading home from a fun chase day, I saw a very little sliver of sunlight right at sunset peaking out from under a heavy rain deck on the back side of storms. I was faced with a split second decision to try and find a spot to capture a potentially epic sunset if the sun were to break through the clouds. Luckily, right at the last second I found a pull off from the main road and was greeted to a full double rainbow!

I immediately jumped out of the car, grabbed my Nikon and in the pouring rain let the shutter click as many times as I could. I had zero time to focus and prayed the autofocus had it right. Upon review, I was left shocked looking at the back of my camera seeing that I caught a lightning bolt slice right through the rainbow!

What a Magical Moment!
