Sadık Aksu, who works under the name xnmtrc, is an architect and design researcher whose independent creative practice applies architectural logic to generative, code-based art. Trained in architecture, he uses artificial intelligence to question how design itself is produced. Under the xnmtrc name he treats architecture as an experimental medium, abstracted and extended into computational form.
His 2021 work Slashed translates Lucio Fontana's practice of piercing and slashing his canvases into a generative algorithm that simulates depth on a two-dimensional digital plane.In 2022 he released Freeplan, a generative work in which the transaction hash determines an architectural composition based on the modernist open plan concept, quoting Frank Lloyd Wright's statement that “the box was a fascist symbol”. Galo Canizares discussed Freeplan in his essay “Can Architects Learn From Generative Art?”, published in The Architect's Newspaper.That same year he made Junkspace, a generative plan-view visualization inspired by Rem Koolhaas's essay of the same name.He also created Brushstroke, an algorithm that emulates a painter's hand gestures, and donated part of its proceeds to the Processing Foundation.
In 2023 he made ODA, a collaboration with Victor Doval that plays on the shared meanings of the word oda in Turkish, meaning room, and in Spanish, meaning ode.The piece was shown in Generative Architecture. The Making of a Room, a group exhibition at Verse presented by Alejandro Campos and Ismahelio.In Places of Existence (2023) he used geometric forms, including chaos, harmony, connectivity, impact, resilience and diversity, to build a narrative about society.In December 2024 he released Chroma Genesis on Art Blocks Studio, a series of 120 pieces exploring the emergence of color from darkness as a metaphor for cycles of creation, growth, decay and rebirth.,,
In 2025 he released Archi Doodles, generative artworks that echo his own architectural sketching habits, and Moducon, exploring the threshold between architecture and graphic design.,Alongside this practice he leads workshops and talks that introduce architects and designers to creative coding and AI.
