Twisted Vacancy is an Indonesian artist who was active in the early NFT community, contributing to collaborative crypto art projects. In 2020 the artist partnered with the Web3 platform MetaFactory on Wicked Sunday Club, a collectively owned fashion brand in which up to 42 members could help shape and sell its products.
That same year, Twisted Vacancy was one of thirteen artists who each contributed an autonomous layer to First Supper, the first programmable artwork minted on Async Art. Modeled on the Last Supper, the composition placed a Hackatao character at its center as the other twelve artists, including Twisted Vacancy, each rendered a surrounding figure in their own style. The work later appeared, alongside those of its co-creators, in the group exhibition “Virtual Niche” at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art's UCCA Lab in Beijing in 2021.
