BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE Svetlana was born in Neksikane, Magadan province in northern Siberia, on the border with the Kamchatka Peninsula, where her father conducted geological studies aimed at discovering important mineral resources. The house where Svetlana was born is located at the confluence of 3 rivers, in a land of strong contrasts and where only the strong survive. At 1 year and 5 months of age, she risks being kidnapped by an eagle and is defended and rescued by her Siberian Husky dog. The nature of the place is characterized by a very long winter followed by the rapid alternation of spring and summer. A land where the presence of Mother Nature is very strong and visible and the colours change radically and quickly in a tumultuous and rapid development. In this context, the nature and the strong character of the artist get forged: a great and generous mother, an impetuous stream of Siberian vitality, a resource of formidable energy and inventiveness. As a child, she moved to Moscow with her family and here she completed her entire cycle of studies until she obtained a diploma as a specialist in functional and motorial rehabilitation. Later she meets an Italian boy with whom she falls in love: finally she moves to Rome, Italy, where the family establishes its residence and where she lives with her husband Enrico and son Cesare. Life has brought her to Italy, a country rich in sun, greenery, water, fertile land, a place where all the necessary elements are present to cultivate the joy of living and creating. It was here in 2008 that her art is born, spontaneously, driven by the need to share her inner life with the outer world. She starts drawing with chalks. After a short period she switches to painting with oil on canvas: the passion is born. Her artworks reflect the dialogue of her soul with the world, with a particular focus on the harmony between the human soul and the mineral, vegetable, animal and universal worlds. The use of oil on canvas has become her preferred medium, allowing her to communicate her passionate and generous nature more fully. Her art is a synthesis of situations, impressions and intuitions, all symbolically shaped and focused on the human essence in connection with the life that surrounds her. Although she employs several techniques, her artworks convey 2 unifying message: - HARMONY ACHIEVED THROUGH THE UNION OF OPPOSING PRINCIPLES - THE HEART ALWAYS WINS AND LOVE HAS NO FLAGS
