Shavonne Wong is a Singaporean new media artist working across AI, three-dimensional rendering, and interactive installation.,She treats emerging technology as a mirror, making work about who we become when machines see, listen, and remember for us. Her practice began in fashion and advertising photography before she moved into three-dimensional imagery and virtual humans from 2020, and into interactive installation from 2023.,
Self-taught, with a background in information technology, Wong spent nearly a decade photographing for fashion and advertising clients.She made Love Is Love, a generative project of 500 works exploring love and identity in which collectors helped determine each outcome, featuring couples across a range of skin colors, genders, sexualities, body shapes, and sizes.
In 2022, her work appeared in “The Times of Chimeras” at the Cameroon Pavilion during the 59th Venice Biennale.,The following year she held her first solo exhibition in Europe, at NFT Factory in Paris, showing new work made in collaboration with Marie Claire Arabia.,,Her digital works include The Duality of ETH, a pair of pieces, Introvert and Extrovert, whose appearance shifts with Ethereum network traffic.
In Meet Eva Here (2024), thousands of visitors spoke with a synthetic character named Eva through video-call stations and a chatbot, and the exchanges were distilled into 100 Instagram diary posts.In Singapore, people made polite small talk with Eva; in New York, visitors tried to break the system within a minute; a Korean visitor objected that it skipped expected honorifics.,The work was presented as a solo installation at Platform Project in both Taipei Dangdai and ART SG in 2025, and a related solo exhibition, “EVA. A.I.”, was held at The Columns Gallery in Singapore.,
She co-founded NFT Asia, a nonprofit community supporting Asian and Asia-based artists in Web3, which by 2022 had exhibited work by more than 93 artists from 21 countries across eight shows.,Wong was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list for Arts in 2020 and to Prestige's 40 Under 40 in 2023.,Brands have also commissioned work from Wong, including the 2021 NFT cover The RenaiXance Rising for Vogue Singapore, made with The Fabricant, and a 2022 NFT collection with Bang & Olufsen comprising 1,925 pieces.
