Sarah Zucker (American, b. 1985) is a video artist based in Los Angeles who blends analog and digital technologies into hallucinatory GIFs, video pieces and NFTs.Working with feedback circuits, camcorders and vintage broadcast gear alongside digital video synthesis, Zucker developed a recurring character called “The Light Witch” across drawings and video paintings.,
Zucker was born in 1985 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and lives and works in Los Angeles.Zucker was the first artist to exhibit GIFs at the Brooklyn Museum, and spoke on the Women Leading the Art and Tech Movement panel at the 2020 Vancouver Biennale.,Zucker began tokenizing work on SuperRare in 2019, and was included among the artists in Sotheby's first curated NFT sales.
In 2020 Zucker made 3gr@ces for “A Celebration of the Woman”, an online exhibition of six female generative and crypto artists organized by Kate Vass Galerie and minted on the Ephimera platform.In 2022 Zucker exhibited THIS IS REAL in “A Record of Time”, a curated NFT launch by Shahin Tabassi on Avant Arte exploring nostalgia and the passage of time.That year Zucker also exhibited The Queen of the Dorkside, described by Zucker as part of a “Video Alchemy” strain of work using performance and original footage with analog video techniques, in “Block Party” at Christie's Dubai.
Zucker's Temporale series translates video work into an analog ecosystem of “vintage broadcast gear, modified devices, feedback circuits, camcorders pointed at TVs” to produce colorful bursts of light. Zucker has described these patterned surfaces as “explosions” that hold order and chaos in balance.Zucker's work is included among 137 artists documented in Collecting Art Onchain, a 2026 book published by Kate Vass Galerie to chronicle a decade of onchain art history.
