The Swiss architect and illustrator Muhju is based in Zurich and works in a self-described style called Renaissance 2.0, reimagining the aesthetics of ancient Greece, Rome, the Renaissance and the Baroque through contemporary digital techniques.,He combines 3D modelling with 2D digital painting to fuse classical motifs with contemporary digital methods.
His work has been exhibited in galleries in cities including Rome, Milan, New York, Seoul, Paris and Bangkok, and sold on platforms including Ninfa and SuperRare.,In Le Temps Revient, he designed a modern reinterpretation of the Medici family coat of arms for Cosimo de' Medici di Toscana di Ottajano, combining a gilded skull motif with a crown bearing the Ethereum logo.He later reused the same skull motif as the centrepiece of the Cendre Bracelet, a handcrafted silver bracelet limited to 99 pieces released through Art Fungible.
In Endgame, a collaboration with King Xerox, Muhju's Renaissance 2.0 style meets King Xerox's glitch aesthetic in a scene built around a chessboard referencing the 2004 Carlsen-Kasparov Rapid game and Bobby Fischer's 1956 victory over Donald Byrne.In ALEA IACTA EST, he depicts Julius Caesar's crossing of the Rubicon, flanked by a spectral figure of Death and an angel bearing the world above the scene.
