Monica has been working as a free-lance character designer and graphic designer since 2015. She joined the NFT community in February of 2021. She is currently an Ambassador to the NFT platform KnownOrigin. Her work can be found in curated platforms such as KnownOrigin and NiftyGateway. The doll-like figures depicted in surrealist scenes are expressions of women’s struggle to break free from the traditional self-imposed roles (wife/mother/woman) while balancing the need for self-fulfillment. The long hair, while culturally significant, is also an embodiment of those roles and a manifestation of insecurities, fears and even manipulations. Their nearly expressionless faces are reflective of their lack choice in those roles and as a quiet protest of those roles.
