Bio

MILK, who works online as @satoshimilk, is a multidisciplinary artist and self-described tinkerer working across design, artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. Their pieces are generated by passing natural language prompts through two AI models in sequence, moving from text to image to video. They also write the Artist Spotlight Series, a recurring feature profiling artists across different backgrounds, mediums and blockchains.

In 2023 MILK released NAMI on Ethereum, an AI video series in which each piece grew from a late-night experiment with geometric wave prompts. One unplanned output resembled The Great Wave off Kanagawa by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, and MILK developed the resulting series over three months of further prompting. In 2024 they released PHOS, an AI video series exploring light through the depiction of stars being formed. MILK has said that making the series brought on unexpected fear and doubt tied to past trauma, and that their Christian faith carried them through it.

Through the Artist Spotlight Series, MILK has profiled artists including the photographer and 3D artist Morten Lasskogen, the illustrator Joseba Elorza, and the filmmaker John D. Boswell. MILK also maintains an archive of collected work by other artists, spanning early Rare Pepe cards to contemporary digital artists such as Luke Weaver.
