Metageist is a digital artist who hand-sculpts creatures and installations in virtual reality, then translates them into 3D-printed and cast physical sculptures augmented with AR markers.,His project Metaphyla imagines a fictional ecosystem of creature species native to the metaverse, first released in 2020.New chapters continued to expand it for years afterward.
He got his start promoting music events before moving into design and later crypto art, discovering virtual reality as a medium he could sculpt in directly.He began releasing 1/1 editions on SuperRare in April 2020and minted Metaphyla's first series, a blind-pack drop of eight creature species, on Nifty Gateway that October.In May 2021 he released The Hierophant, an edition of 50, alongside the Cyclops sculptures. Each Cyclops was hand-sculpted in VR and cast in gold, pearl-infused or bronze resin, fitted with an AR marker that unlocks further digital art.That November he released Nomads of the Mirage, centered on The Basilisk, a golden sculpture hand-modelled in VR, 3D-printed and electroplated in metal. Its soundtrack, “the Basilisk's Song”, was composed by Varien, whose credits include sound design for Overwatch and John Wick 3.
In September 2023 he was one of the artists Trevor Jones selected for a charity exhibition and auction held in memory of the artist Alotta Money, alongside Pak and Hackatao.,That same month he released The Migration, an animated update that gave more than 400 Metaphyla holders a new version of their creature compatible with virtual and augmented reality platforms.The following month he released Figurines from the Future, including Future Shock, a glitching avatar piece contrasting modern warfare with digital connection.
