marka is an artist who, with Backseats, created a crosschain hair-trait mint for the Chonks PFP collection, using LayerZero's lzRead protocol to read minters' inscriptions from Snowfro's Relic contract on Ethereum and generate unique Farewell Fro hair traits collectible on Base. On their website, marka is described as “creator // founder // punk 9007”, alongside two further project lines, Generational Lines and DegenerativeGames.
Minting Farewell Fro was asynchronous, since the process took a few minutes to finalize while LayerZero's Decentralized Verifier Networks confirmed the crosschain data. The interaction was also read-only, shaped by data from the Ethereum mainnet but unable to update state back on the network within the same transaction.
