Bio

Nastaran Najafi, known as ItsNaastaaraan, is an Iranian artist working between abstract and glitch painting whose work sits at the intersection of memory, identity and rupture. She started in classical painting and moved toward abstraction and glitch only when representational technique stopped being enough, treating digital distortion as a way to fracture an image's surface and reach what language cannot say.^,

Her practice draws on Iranian visual heritage, including the geometry of ancient architecture and the ornament of Persepolis, put into conversation with the vocabulary of digital fragmentation. The woman recurs throughout her paintings as subject rather than decoration, part of a lifelong effort to have women's voices seen and redefined on their own terms.^, CARRIED, an ongoing two-year project, is her most personal expression of this concern, moving from her own memory toward the woman she has become in what she calls “my reconciliation with my identity, my origin, and my land”.

Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in New York, Manchester, Qatar, Amsterdam, Karachi, Dubai, Chicago, Italy and London since 2021, and was featured on Apple Vision Pro in 2024.^, She has built a collector base of more than 115 collectors on Ethereum. Alongside her paintings, she has also released Pepe-themed NFT works such as PEPERONI and PEPEPATRA, and an Onchain Summer collection on Base including pieces such as Base Girl and Base Waves.^,
