Alan Bolton is a 3D artist from Ireland based in Lisbon, Portugal, working primarily in Blender and AI tools to create surreal, hyper-realistic 3D imagery.In April 2021, Bolton collaborated with the musician Jay Robinson of hau5trap on Mind Games, a three-part collection released on MakersPlace that paired Bolton's visual art with Robinson's music.
Bolton's work explores themes of consciousness and the hidden self, drawing on the psychological frameworks of Carl Jung, Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud. Bolton turned to web3 art in 2020, releasing work on SuperRare, Foundation and Exchange Art.Bolton collaborated with the musician deadmau5 on the six-piece The Chronicles of Creation, released on MakersPlace in July 2021. That September, Bolton partnered with Manchester City Football Club on the four-piece Creation, also released on MakersPlace. Bolton collaborated with deadmau5 again in June 2023 for Infected, a 1/1 released on SuperRare.
Bolton's two-piece collection Absurdism followed on Foundation in October 2023,released as a 1/1 and a ten-piece edition.In August 2024, Bolton minted Survival of the Fittest as card #272 in 6529's NFT project The Memes, an edition of 310 rendered in Blender.Bolton's work has been exhibited at the Beijing Contemporary Art Show in 2023, Context Art Miami in 2025, and NFC Lisbon in 2026.
