George Boya, the working name of George Bogiatzidis, is a collage artist and illustrator based in the Old City of Thessaloniki, Greece.,His work blurs collage, painting, stained glass techniques, and photography, deconstructing familiar images from the real world to build new, balanced compositions.,,
Boya studied interior design and art conservation and restoration, and has worked as a freelance collage artist and illustrator for more than a decade, showing in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.,He builds each piece by hand from cut photographs, using a surgical scalpel, black markers, and glue stick on velvet paper mounted on black cardboard, a process he has described as “think-cut-think-compose-think-glue” that can take 20 to 30 hours per medium-sized work. In The Monstrous Abduction, he set the Gill-man and actress Julia Adams from the 1954 film Creature from the Black Lagoon inside a floral pattern, recasting the black-and-white scene in color.His work was also included in Collage Artist Trading Cards Pack 4, and he takes commissions for advertising campaigns, book covers, interiors, and press and magazine illustration.,
Boya began minting his work as NFTs after encountering the format on another blockchain platform, drawn to the idea of cataloguing his art immutably, and has released work through MakersPlace, SuperRare, and Rarible. He released a generative project titled MECHANA on the platform Async Art, describing generative work as an important part of the NFT art movement.In 2026 Boya took over the Inksea Art Lounge at the NFC Summit alongside Hackatao, Mattia Cuttini, and Andrea Chiampo, in a program hosted by 100 Collectors that also included a meet-the-artists session.,,
