Florian Zumbrunn is a French artist based in Paris who describes his practice as painting with code, working across pastel and oil, immersive installations, and hybrid performance built on generative algorithms.,Trees recur through his work as structural traces, and the seasonal light he renders draws on the Impressionists, sustaining a dialogue between computation and matter that has run through his practice for over a decade.
In 2022, during his first year as a father, he began reflecting on how his own choices would shape his son's sense of self, and released Foundations on fxhash, a series about the origins of identity. On February 8, 2023 he released Tout tracé through Art Blocks Presents, a fixed edition of 300 unique, animated works continuing that inquiry under a title that means both “all mapped out” and “all drawn”. Like Foundations, its grid-based compositions, built from millions of drawn lines, set that structure against the idea that only one's own choices ultimately define who one becomes.
His work has since been shown solo in Bois-Colombes (“Brise d'Automne”, 2023) and Paris (“Scents of Summer”, 2023), and in group exhibitions including “Odysseys” at Bright Moments in Paris in 2024 and “Code+Matter” in Paris in 2025.In 2025 he contributed A Strange Dream to “Cure³”, a fundraising exhibition of generative art on fx(hash) supporting Parkinson's research, saying he had wanted to make charitable giving a recurring part of his practice since donating a portion of the proceeds from Tout tracé.Alongside his studio practice he teaches generative art at Gobelins and Le Wagon in Paris.
