DADA is a collaborative digital art platform co-founded in 2014 by Beatriz Helena Ramos and Judy Mam, where artists from around the world engage in visual conversation through drawing.,It gives participants a space to draw and create freely, and its images have since been minted as blockchain-based artworks.
In 2017 DADA released Creeps & Weirdos, a collection minting work by 30 artists, most of whom had never encountered blockchain technology before joining the project. The collection's smart contract was the first to embed artist resale royalties on-chain.DADA also took part in the Rare Art Festival in New York in early 2018, described as the moment the crypto art movement was born, where it collaborated with Kitty Hats.,
In 2020 Ramos and Mam articulated the concept of an Invisible Economy, seeking what they called a “radical separation of art and the market”.The framework used a token-based incentive system so artists could create freely while still receiving income from the community, separate from direct sales.DADA has continued through multiple crypto market downturns since 2017, with innovation and creativity tending to intensify as market speculation cools.In 2024 DADA.Art was included among fifty crypto artists profiled in the book Crypto Art Begins, alongside Hackatao, Refik Anadol, and Osinachi.
