Cyril Diagne is a French interaction designer and creative coder based in Paris, specialized in applying machine learning to human-computer interaction.,After graduating from Les Gobelins in 2008, he co-founded the collective LAB212 with five other artists, creating interactive installations that cast technology in a sensible, poetic light.
In 2015 he and designer Beatrice Lartigue won the WNO Performance Award for their interactive installation Portée.That March he began a long-term residency at the Google Cultural Institute Lab in Paris, developing new connections between cultural assets, institutions, and audiences through experimental technology.In 2016 he won the DevArt prize for Les Métamorphoses de M. Kalia, exhibited at the Barbican Centre in London.He was also appointed professor and Head of Media & Interaction Design at ECAL in Switzerland in 2015.,As Google's artist-in-residence he led a machine learning tool, announced at VOICES 2017 in partnership with Business of Fashion, that mapped 144,000 runway looks and let users upload a photo to find similar outfits. He moved back to France in 2018 after marrying fashion designer Karen Topacio, with whom he created an experimental software and fashion collection that won the E-Fashion Award.He also co-created ClipDrop, an augmented reality app for cutting and pasting between the physical and digital worlds.
