Chiquita Putri, an Indonesia-based artist known as Ciput, describes her artworks as visual translations of her thoughts, using minimalist compositions of simple shapes and bright color to capture fleeting emotions. She never attended art school, and found her style by working within the limits of a free drawing app on her phone and iPad.
She began making art regularly during the isolation of the 2021 pandemic, using it as a form of diary to process what she was feeling day to day. Her husband, who had learned about NFTs, encouraged her to bring that work onto the blockchain. In June 2022 she collaborated with the artist 0xPhiiil on Freehand, working in generative art for the first time. A review of the collaboration on the Waiting To Be Signed podcast described her as an emotionally driven, color-driven artist.
