Born in 1976 in Beijing, Yu Zhao attended preparatory courses at the Central School of Fine Arts and the Beijing Costume Institute for several years. After studying French, Yu Zhao came to France to devote herself to painting, which attracted her like a vocation. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Bordeaux III and then at the University of Paris VIII, where she obtained her doctorate on the vocabulary of theories of pictorial art in ancient China.

With more than 20 year's experience in painting she now makes abstract and contemporary art. She was able to enter the studio of Mrs. Peng-Tuan Keh-Ming, author of many books on calligraphy and Chinese painting, and even succeeded her at the head of the workshop thereafter. She has exhibited in Paris at the Nichido gallery where she will presents her works in 2023, in China, at the Beijing International Art Fair in particular; or in Italy.

Nominated for the International Award of the "Carnet de Voyage", this multi-talented artist collaborates and performs through many medias : church windows, painting and music performances, tempera, etc. Her works can be found in numerous collections, at the Thetis Foundation in Venice, at the Institute of International Relations in Beijing or at the headquarters of the Prévoir group in Paris.

Yu Zhao 's main medium is tempera (egg painting), an ancestral technique, used in particular in the art of icons, by Italian artists of the Renaissance, but also by great modern masters (Klee, Picasso, Rothko...). She studied in China and in France with the famous French painter and sculptor Pierre Garcia.
