Yolk Songs is a collection of generative music pieces recorded in late 2021.

The tracks were composed using a simple algorithm that I developed in 2006, around the time I made several musical discoveries that would become foundational to my practice. The "zxpg" software patch generates musical structure, which is then sent to a selection of digital synthesizers. Although many modifications and improvements could be made to the crude generator, for this particular project it was used raw, as it was made all those years ago.

Most pieces reflect a particular setting that was recorded for a duration that felt right. In some cases, settings were modified, or voiced enabled or disabled during the recording. No arranging was done post-recording.

The 54 pieces are grouped into 8 short EPs, or Episodes, released consecutively as download albums on Bandcamp (https://tobiasreber.bandcamp.com) and as individual 1/1 NFTs on the Tezos blockchain (objkt.com/profile/tobiasreber/collections). Once all EPs are released, original buyers of any NFT can request a free download of the 54 pieces via Twitter direct message @tobiasreber.
