At the end of a narrow, cobblestoned alley stood an old house known to everyone as "The Yellow Shadow." The house was famous not only for its beautiful architecture, but also for the large apricot tree that had taken root in its yard. The tree was so tall that its branches extended beyond the walls of the house and its shadow reached all the way to the end of the alley.
