There is nothing more changeable or capable of affecting change than water. As a gentle raindrop it has the capacity to coax life from the soil. As a violent deluge, it can quickly take everything away. Even the smallest trickle, if persistent, can eventually carve a path through solid rock. Over time, a constant stream will smooth the roughest stones. Water curves, water flows, water adapts. When it floods, it lifts and carries whatever is willing to follow the current, and crushes and consumes that which stands in its way.
