I watched the sunrise from my plane window just before landing in Iceland. As we descended to the ground, we passed through the heavy cloud layer and I was plunged into a darker environment. I picked up my rental car and as I drove north, pockets of light began to pierce through the dense cloud cover. The drive was a constant set of awe inspiring images of light playing with the landscape. I stopped when I saw the massive sprawl of open land in this image and how dynamic the light was. The clouds were always moving so I didn’t have much time to capture the spotlight on the electrical post. If you look closely you can see the tiny camper out in the field to provide scale on this impressive scene.
