Clad in a beautifully cheerful shade of sunshine yellow, “Grace” [a “jemik”, or “elf” as humans would know her] slips out of her oak tree hide-out and prepares to gather the morning’s breakfast: a single blueberry— enough for her to nibble for weeks— and a flower petal filled with rainwater from a Wyoming woodland.
