Remix of source artwork by Texadelic – combinations of AI variations, collage, digital painting

Sight of Sign refers to the tendency of the mind to attempt to familiarize the unknown or to give shape to the abstract – to place it as a sign, meaning in the order of the internal system of things and relationships. The beginning point were artworks by Texadelic, which were abstract pieces, prompting me to reflect on what, how and why we see what we see when we look at something (be it a piece of art or any other phenomenon in our field), and how it enters into our world of meaning – how we give it meaning.

I generated multiple variations of the pieces using AI and a prompt to extrapolate figurativeness, then varying the degrees to which outputs corresponded to the prompt. The final piece came about using pieces and fragments, overlays of these variations, repetitions of the original elements, fragments of my own pieces and direct digital work.

Texadelic and I decided to work without specific theme or really any requirements than creating pieces based on each other's pieces. I allowed myself to free associate, work spontaneously but also reflect on the very act of seeing and seeing through another artist's work - and that also became the big part of the theme I worked with.
